Between October and December 2023, more than 200 students between the ages of 12 and 16 from four secondary schools in Reggio Emilia participated in the training course dedicated to the theme of adaptation to climate change, entitled 'Climate gives us a... lesson'; this training was proposed by the Municipality of Reggio Emilia as part of the European project Life CityAdaP3.
The course included 3 meetings of 2 hours each, for a total of six hours for each class.
After a first introductory meeting, girls and boys were engaged in the field, in an inspection near the school building, during which students learned to observe the city and identify critical climate aspects and adaptive solutions already in place and also further possibilities. In the third meeting, in the classroom again, the students displayed the data collected during the site visit and, from these, made analysis and proposals with respect to the adaptive capacity of our territory to climate change.
